Sunday 17 January

Hello again,

We've had a very busy weekend, as friends from Bognor Regis have been staying with us for a few days.  They arrived on Friday and we spent Saturday in London, going to the Royal Academy to see an art exhibition , then the Design Museum to see an exhibition called Cycle Revolution.  In the evening we went to the Sam Wannamaker theatre at The Globe to see Pericles.   All this was interspersed with regular stops for coffee, lunch, tea and an evening meal of course!!  Unfortunately when we got back to St Pancras the train to Gravesend was cancelled, so we had to get off at Ebbsfleet and get a bus to Gravesend.  It didn't make us much later though, so that was good.

Today we went to Eltham Palace which was surprisingly busy considering the time of year.  We decided to skip going to look around the gardens though because it was so cold.  We thought we'd go back in the Spring when the flowers are out.  I'm sure there were some out already though as we have a few daffodils out in our own garden.  Our friends then went home and we went to my daughter's house for roast dinner this evening.  All in all a very busy and enjoyable weekend.

My main reason for this entry though is (as promised) to show photos of my latest two projects.  This one is of my Autumn appliqué tree, not finished yet of course, but it's a step in the right direction.

I may just finish this one as a stand alone wall hanging, or do the other three seasons and join them all together.

The one below has just had the flowers and stems adhered to the fabric using bond a web.  I need to add some centres to some of the flowers before stitching.

I'd like to get on and complete these two projects but they will probably end up being added to my stockpile of ongoing masterpieces!!

This week I have a 2 birthday cards to make, both for the same day.  One for a friend and the other for my grandson who will be 10.  I'm also making him a birthday cake so a busy week ahead!

Bye for now

Jean
